Revolutionizing Testing with DevOps Test 11.0.4: Streamlined, Smarter, Stronger

Fully part of the new HCL DevOps Automation offering, a comprehensive solution designed to streamline workflows, a new version of our automated software testing portfolio has been released, DevOps Test 11.0.4. Used alone or as part of the DevOps Automation platform, it will change the way tests are performed, offering multiple solutions in one single platform in order to maximize application quality.

New Features in Version 11.0.4

DevOps Test Hub: Test authoring:

Delivered for preview purposes only, and not yet ready for production, this capability will change the way tests are performed, bringing users to a unified single platform.

With this preview, DevOps Test Hub continues to be the cloud-native collaborative platform testers can now use to create tests directly in DevOps Test Hub. We can still create tests using any of existing components: DevOps Test UI, DevOps Test Performance or DevOps Test Integrations and APIs. Sharing test assets with DevOps Test Hub through Git, however now you can create tests directly in DevOps Test Hub. This is a huge step toward a more complete solution with data, API testing along with performance testing, which will be made available in future releases.

With the 2024.12 (version 11.0.4 of DevOps Test), the list of capabilities includes:

Recording a test by connecting to the application under test and recording user actions. Once the scenario is done, the test gets uploaded to the platform ready for use.

Editing a test, like adding verification points, using interactive gestures between screenshots and the test, where the controls involved in the scenario are easily and clearly identified, or changing values and properties as needed. New actions can be dragged and dropped into the test from the catalogue, allowing a smooth and easy test creation.

Users can run the test from the editor to maximize efficiency and productivity during the authoring phase, and results are displayed and viewable from the editor:

While this new way of running tests will continue to be enhanced in upcoming releases for authoring, debugging, repairing or maintaining tests, once tests are working as expected, they remain available for execution just as any other test contributed by any other DevOps Test component.

Tests can be assembled in test suites and placed for execution, either in parallel or sequentially. They can also be run from the editor, as well as from the execution page, and the last results are displayed and accessible from the editor.

The test navigator has been enhanced for a first-class user experience, including filtering assets by categories, and organizing them by logical folders.

DevOps Test Hub: New Functional Report for DevOps Test Integrations and APIs

This release also includes a new functional test report when DevOps Test Integrations and APIs tests are run from DevOps Test Hub. The report is also applicable for tests authored directly inside DevOps Test Hub.
