HCL AppScan is widely recognized as an industry leader in application security testing tools. Our platforms and solutions empower developers, DevOps, and security teams with a powerful suite of technologies like DAST, SAST, IAST, SCA & SSCS to pinpoint vulnerabilities in applications and APIs for quick remediation in every phase of the software development lifecycle.

As part of our ongoing commitment to enhance our products and services, we are excited for our twelve month roadmap with increased feature functionality across all of our solutions, the release of new version updates, a new distribution and license management platform, and end-of-support for versions using the current licensing system (versions 10.0.0–10.6.0*).

Central to this roadmap is our new distribution and license management platform, My HCLSoftware (MHS). MHS is a one-stop, central portal that supports the post-purchase customer lifecycle and is the new hub for downloading and managing licenses across all supported versions of HCL AppScan products.

With the introduction of MHS and the reintroduction of complete license capability in future releases, HCLSoftware is committed to ensuring that our licensing processes remain transparent and our customers benefit from a seamless, self-service experience that is more streamlined and increasingly efficient.

New License Roadmap for On-premise Products

(HCL AppScan Standard, HCL AppScan Enterprise, HCL AppScan Source)

HCL AppScan is updating our distribution and license management with a new platform where customers can choose the latest licenses, reduce the risk of unauthorized usage, and ensure the most updated security compliance.

In order to smoothly migrate customers to the new My HCLSoftware (MHS) platform, we will be providing a number of version updates with feature upgrades and new licensing models. The current distribution and license management platform will reach the end of support on June 30th, 2025.

Customers can take advantage of this transition during either of two phases:

Intermediate Phase (Version 10.7.0)

Customers who upgrade to Version 10.7.0 (October 2024 release) will incorporate an interim timeboxed licensing capability. Customers that choose this intermediate phase option will need to upgrade again, prior to this version’s end of support date, to either Version 10.8.0 or later, all of which will incorporate the long-term licensing capability. Learn more.

Long-Term Phase (Version 10.8.0+)

The new My HCLSoftware (MHS) platform for distribution and license management will be adopted with Version 10.8.0 (March 2025 release) and subsequent versions of HCL AppScan Standard, HCL AppScan Enterprise and HCL AppScan Source. These versions will incorporate the long-term licensing capability and can only be downloaded through the new MHS platform. Learn more.

HCLSoftware will provide additional information and instructions as needed throughout this migration period.

Next Step for On-Premise Customers

Customers should migrate to either HCL AppScan Version 10.7.0, Version 10.8.0 or higher prior to June 29, 2025.

Our recommendation is for customers to upgrade directly to the long-term solution (Version 10.8.0 or higher) that includes the new MHS platform for distribution and license management. Any version updates should be implemented as soon as possible to allow enough time for the transition.

Customers using a Local License Server (LLS) will need to install a new LLS server when they upgrade to versions 10.8.0 onwards by the end of June 2025.

Support for HCL AppScan versions 10.0.0–10.6.0 will end on June 30, 2025. For more information, please visit the HCLSoftware Product Lifecycle Page.

New License Impact for Cloud and Cloud-Native Products

Customers using HCL AppScan on Cloud (ASoC) and HCL AppScan 360º will also be migrated to the new MHS platform for distribution and license management.

In the case of ASoC, which is a managed SaaS offering, migration will take place as part of the continuous delivery cycle without any interruption in service.

There will also be no end of service for current users of HCL AppScan 360º on an existing license. Beginning in Q2 2025, customers requesting new licenses or entitlements will be migrated to a version of HCL AppScan 360º that supports the MHS platform.

HCL AppScan is dedicated to making these changes as smooth as possible. We appreciate your continued trust in our products and services.
