What is the Unica 12.1 Beta program?
Unica 12.1 beta is an early access program that provides Unica patrons an opportunity to explore hands-on the features of any upcoming updates to the platform, The next update to the platform is 12.1.2 and is scheduled to be released on Nov 30th 2021 and the current beta program showcases the features included in this update
Why is Unica offering this Beta program?
Unica roadmap has strongly been driven by the voice of its customers and partners. Our patrons, have expressed an interest to be more actively involved in the direction, design and evolution of features across our portfolio. Through this program, Unica intends for its patrons to preview/explore our upcoming release features and provide feedback on them proactively prior to its official release.
What should I expect from the Beta program?
The Beta program is offered as an early access/preview to select areas of our upcoming GA release and is not the final GA version of the software. As the release is still under development and testing, please be aware not all areas of the product are fully functional and issues may be expected. Participants are requested to review the outlined scope of the beta (see scope section for more information) and restrict their exploration and feedback to the areas in question. While Unica will make every effort to ensure the application is stable and functionality is available end to end, there may be situations and scenarios where it may not be the case and the understanding and cooperation of participants is greatly appreciated.
How is this Beta program offered?
The program will be offered for a period of 3 weeks starting Oct 25th through Nov 10th. Patrons who have signed up for the program, will be given access to a Unica hosted environment to explore hands on the features in scope.
Does the Beta program include all the features of the GA release?
Since the beta program is offered as an early access/preview to select areas of our upcoming GA release, not all features of the GA release will be available in the beta. Features related to deployment, performance, environment stack support and elements that may require 3rd party components will not be covered in the beta. The beta environment has also not been tuned for performance and logging levels are set appropriately to help troubleshoot issues.
Will there be a training offered on the Beta program?
Yes. There will be a webinar hosted by Unica on Beta enablement. The webinar will walk the participants through the program and provide a guided tour on the features in scope.In case you missed the webinar, a replay is available here
When is the GA of the next platform update to Unica 12.1?
The next update to Unica 12.1 platform is scheduled to be GA on Nov 30th 2021. It will be available as a feature pack (12.1.2) to the 12.1 version (GA of July 2020)

I am an internal HCL Beta participant.How do I request credentials for accessing the Beta environment?
If you have previously participated in Unica Beta program, you can continue to access the Beta environment with your existing credentials. If this is your first time participating in the Beta program, please follow these instructions:
- Look up your login credentials for the Beta environment.
- If your credentials are not listed, please request access via email to unica.beta@hcl.com with the subject "Unica Beta Environment Access"
I am a customer/partner participating in the Beta program.How do I request credentials for accessing the Beta environment?
If you have previously participated in Unica Beta program, you can continue to access the Beta environment with your existing credentials. If this is your first time participating in the Beta program, please follow these instructions:
- Send an email to unica.beta@hcl.com requesting access. Please provide your first and last name; company name and country where you are located.
- In response you will receive an email with the Pre-Release Agreement attached. Please review the document and respond with your confirmation to abide by that agreement. Just an email affirmation is fine. You do not need to print or actually sign the document.
- Upon our receipt of your agreement we will respond with your login credentials and environment specifics.
Can I access the Beta environment anytime?
Yes. Unica will make every effort to keep the beta environment available 24x7 during the course of the beta program. If you have any issues accessing the environment, please notify us at unica.beta@hcl.com with the subject "Unica Beta Environment Availability" and our support team will assist you on the issue. Please note that support on weekends may be limited.

Are there any best practices to be followed during the Beta program?
Unica recommends participants follow these suggested best practices to get the best out of this program:
- Since this is a shared environment, organize your work in the application into folders as and when applicable.
- Choose folder names that are easy to search,access and reflect your usage. In case of privacy concerns, use generic names (For example: customer_1234)
- When testing email/SMS please configure your target audience judiciously to ensure there is no spamming. Refer to the relevant videos for more details
- Confine your exploration to features outlined in the scope of the Beta and provide feedback related to it
- In case of any issues with the environment, please email to unica.beta@hcl.com for support
I already participated in previous Unica 12.0 Beta program. Is there anything i need to do different for Unica 12.1 Beta program?
- Please clear your browser cache before you can access the Unica 12.1 Beta instance.
- Your login credentials and access URL for the Unica 12.1 remains the same as Unica 12.0 Beta
We currently have a Unica deployment. Is there anything I need to be aware when switching between the Unica 12.1 Beta environment and my current Unica deployment?
We recommend clearing your browser cache on Google Chrome when accessing different Unica versions (Beta and your current deployment of Unica)
How do I provide feedback on a specific feature or function included in the Beta?
Based on prior feedback, we are launching a new process to log feedback with our new Beta Feedback Application.
- Your login credentials are the same as the Beta environment
- In few clicks,make your selections, summarize your feedback and submit your ticket
- If there any screenshots/images/documents you would like to reference in your feedback, please upload them when creating the ticket
- You will be able to review your tickets and get status anytime by logging in to the application. Email notifications will be enabled shortly
- Participants are requested to refrain from emailing your feedback. Following the above outlined process will ensure your feedback is processed in a timely fashion
